This is such an integral part of our
programmes and is the ideal way to find out about people, life,
culture and heritage in Scotland and Britain as a whole but it
also provides the opportunity to make new friends and to try new
activities as diverse as rock-climbing or team-building. |
Our carefully planned activities are:
-
led by experienced,
enthusiastic staff who love their jobs!
-
well-organised and structured
to maximise benefit
-
well-balanced to keep you on
your toes
-
supplemented by our Mackenzie
School Activity Book – fun but educational!
-
guaranteed to leave you with
life-long memories
-
going to make you smile at
one point or another
|
We offer a wide range of options from
leisure activities such as Scottish dancing or cinema evenings
and local cultural visits such as Edinburgh Castle or Rosslyn
Chapel to whole-day excursions such as a trip to the historic
town of Stirling and the Wallace Monument.
 One
thing to bear in mind is that a historic visit to Stirling
Castle and the Wallace Monument is never just that with
Mackenzie School – we always have extras, as mentioned above,
‘to keep you on your toes’!
The list of what we can do really is
endless but we are sure that within that, there is something to
suit everyone.
Did you know that Friday in Scotland is
Kilt Wearing day? Ok, maybe that’s not entirely true but Chris
and Alex insist on wearing theirs on Fridays – a sight not to be
missed!
We like to be different and to give you an example of one thing
we do that offers real comfort to parents and leaders is that we
arrange taxis home after organised evening activities.
|
This means:
-
taxis for
students at 10pm after activities ensure that everybody gets
home safely and is in bed early enough to wake up for school
the next day!
-
our taxi drivers
do not drive away until they see the student getting in to
the house
-
our hosts love this aspect of working with Mackenzie School
as it gives them peace of mind
-
group leaders
see it as one less thing to worry about, leaving them
feeling more relaxed and able to enjoy their time too!

 Edinburgh
is a wonderful city and is a safe place for students but this is
a service we simply insist on – it’s included in your package
price and rest assured, doesn’t cost an arm and a leg!
Why
should student safety come at a high price? It’s just part of
the deal at Mackenzie School of English!
