Lessons

Languages open doors - we have the key.

Our quality of tuition is guaranteed; we are highly-experienced providers and experts in English language education. What is more important in the modern world than a good knowledge of English - the true lingua franca.

Our Teachers are native English speakers, possess a TEFL qualification, have a minimum of three years experience in the classroom and, most importantly, are passionate about what they do.

To give you an idea, here is some detailed information on two of the options we offer; General English and CLIL:

General English

We believe that communication is the key as well as the reason for learning languages. We teach students to use language actively, as a tool for real-life communication.
Students learn by doing and this is the key factor in successful language learning. We use the most innovative methodologies and technology to create task-based, content-driven, motivational lessons. We engage students by keeping things close to their hearts and making sure the contexts appeal to them.

In our General English lessons students will:

  • focus on real-life English

  • have the opportunity to activate the knowledge they already possess

  • be given interesting and challenging tasks

  • realise that they are better than they think

  • practise all essential language skills

  • extend their vocabulary and grammatical awareness

  • be issued with relevant homework

CLIL

CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) is a movement that is sweeping educational institutions throughout the world. This entails teaching traditional secondary school subjects, such as Maths, Geography and History, but using the medium of English.
It is an interactional methodology which is aimed at building self-confidence and a ´can do´ attitude. It is also an ideal introduction for learners who would perhaps like to study in English in the future.

Too many people today leave school unable to use the languages which they have spent so many hours studying, but with CLIL the emphasis is on active skills rather than passive knowledge.

With the expansion of the European
Union, and the European Commission’s pledge to help all EU citizens become proficient in three languages, it is becoming more and more commonplace.

Some of the advantages of CLIL are:

  • It offers opportunities to allow youngsters to use the language naturally

  • It improves overall as well as specific language competence

  • It helps prepare students for future study and work

  • Learners will be more motivated when studying natural language integrated in a content-based subject

  • CLIL opens doors on new horizons and allows a deeper cultural awareness

  • It takes the emphasis away from language learning and places it on communication instead

  • Learners need time to acquire a new language; CLIL gives them that opportunity

  • Over time it promotes fluency and more natural use of the language
